Australia: New South Wales – Cullunghutti Aboriginal Area


The NSW government has announced the formal gazettal of the Cullunghutti Aboriginal Area near Nowra. This area, protected under the National Parks and Wildlife Act, protects a culturally significant area of some 67 hectares.

Peru: Uncontacted Amazon Tribe Under Threat


The Peruvian government is planning to abolish a reserve that protects the territory of an as yet uncontacted Amazon tribe in Peru. Thankfully the tribes territory extends into Brazil and this section of their territory appears safe for the time being.
