When thinking of endangered species it is difficult to believe that a rabbit could be endangered. Certainly where I work rabbits are a major introduced pest, yet in Indonesia there is a rabbit that is threatened with extinction. The link below is to an article covering the plight of the Sumatran Striped Rabbit.
It seems incredible, that even now, new species of living organisms are still being discovered by science. Perhaps you would be forgiven for thinking that only very small creatures and some plants are all that remains to be discovered. However, there are large organisms being found as well.
In Australia, a new species of dolphin was recorded.
However, it is not all good news, with some species becoming extinct as well.
I am yet to come up with any real destination for my next holiday, despite saying it was time to plan back in August 2009. I do however, have a possible timeframe in which to have the holiday, so planning must now begin with some earnest.
I am hoping to go on my next trip at the start of February 2010 and it will be for about 2 weeks I think. I have no solid plans on just where to go, but I am thinking out west somewhere (New South Wales, Australia). I may even go to the Northern Territory.
So now it is time to really begin planning.
It has been quite some time since my last holiday. I expect I can do a day trip or two before my next holiday. However, it is time to start planning a more substantial holiday. I need to do this in order to get myself motivated and to have something to work towards. My holidays have always been better when I have planned ahead for them.
So, step number one is to come up with a destination or perhaps a route. I need a planned itinerary, a place to go or some plan for my holiday. So that is the first step.
